XAVA Brings Trendy Home Decor to Hong Kong

LifestyleAsia Date: 21 Jul 2011

Stylish and eco-friendly design pieces from Europe

Outside of XAVA stands a six foot tall David statue in all his naked glory. But unlike his historical marble 'brother' in Florence, this David's been painted a shocking shade of bright blue, carries a shopping bag in one hand and stands on a carefully measured carpet of faux grass.

Judging by the entrance alone, we might have never given Hong Kong's newest home decor store a chance, but we're relieved to say that things inside of XAVA are thankfully nowhere near as tacky.

XAVA means 'The New House' in Latin and was started by sisters Angel and Cherry Chui with Gordon Lund -- two Americans and a Swede who found it surprisingly difficult to buy decent, unique and stylish furniture in Hong Kong. Together, they decided to change the scene by handpicking the most stylish and eco-friendly design pieces from Europe back to XAVA.
